Carlton Cole suggested that West Ham winger Felipe Anderson isn’t pulling his weight right now, when talking to Sky Sports’ The Debate programme on Tuesday night (February 25th, 22:45), and some Hammers fans took to Twitter in response to his remarks.

The 26-year-old returned from six months on the sidelines against Liverpool on Monday night, however, he failed to deliver.

The Brazilian appears to lack the confidence to really run at opposing defenders this year. And his ball retention was extremely poor.

Anderson has racked up only 1 goal and five assists in 22 appearances for West Ham so much this year (Transfermarkt).

After coming for a blockbuster #41.5 million commission from Lazio in the summer of 2018 (BBC), Hammers fans are right to expect more form the South American.

Cole, who made 393 appearances for West Ham, demanded more from Anderson, when speaking on Sky Sports’ The Debate on Tuesday night:

Cole is spot on here. Anderson has so much ability. But the 26-year-old just has not shown what he’s capable of on a consistent enough basis.

The Hammers have some massive games between now and the end of the season.

And it is time for Anderson to step up and provide the West Ham fans what they deserve to see.
