A rather good argument could be made at West Ham United about the need for a new striker.

With Sebastien Haller having departed for Ajax in a surprise move earlier in the winter transfer window, January would have been the perfect time to bolster the attacking ranks at the London Stadium.

Indeed, with just Michail Antonio the only ‘recognised’ striker in the team, David Moyes should have been looking to bring in a striker to help provide competition and provide back-up as the current Hammer has a horrible issue with hamstring injuries at times, thus making him slightly unreliable.

There is no doubting his ability to score goals, but if he goes down, there will be questions as to who West Ham can turn to as they look to carry on their impressive Premier League campaign under the Scottish manager; something that many at the best online casinos nz have noticed.

And, whilst Moyes admitted the club looked at a number of targets, he revealed that there was some caution in their approach and that they were not prepared to go down the same route as before and splash out on big-name forwards and for it to ultimately not work.

Speaking ahead of the game with Aston Villa, he said (as quoted by the BBC):

“We were looking and we had money to spend,” said Moyes.

“But we are trying not to go down the same path as before. I am not going to sign players who have come in to appease people.

“When the club spent £200m, people said it was great and we were going places – it didn’t work out that well.

“We do want to add to what we have and we tried for a striker, but the players we wanted weren’t available.”

It is believed that AFC Bournemouth’s Joshua King – who has now completed a move to Everton instead – was a target for West Ham, but they backed out for whatever reason. Bettors will have no reason to back out like West Ham, though, when they use the best real money casinos online as they will nothing to fear.

Of course, the Hammers have a torrid history when it comes down to strikers with the current owners having splashed out vast sums of money on forwards that simply have not provided the goal return they would have hoped for during their time at either The Boelyn Ground or The London Stadium.

Moyes did make additions to his high-flyers this winter with the acquisition of Manchester United’s Jesse Lingard – a player who he will know well from their time together at Old Trafford – whilst Said Benrahma’s deal was finally permanently completed after his initial loan switch last summer from Brentford.
