Based on Sky Sports reports, Benfica midfielder Gedson Fernandes favours a transfer to West Ham United despite links to Everton.

It is claimed that Fernandes’ mother lives in London, making West Ham a move for the 20-year-old talent.

Furthermore, it’s claimed that Fernandes knows some players at the West Ham setup, and would fancy reuniting with those players at East London.

They are likely to be winger Mesaque Dju and defender Goncalo Cardoso out of Portugal Under-20 duty, whilst Portuguese attacker Xande Silva is also in the club.

That puts West Ham in a powerful position to property Fernandes, especially with Premier League rivals Everton considered to be interested also.

The Telegraph claim Everton are making a late run at registering Fernandes, with Carlo Ancelotti seemingly hoping to bolster his midfield options this season.

Fernandes currently seems likely to join West Ham, who need choices that are more midfield to support Mark Noble and Declan Rice.

Quick and talented on the ball, Fernandes is a promising midfielder who could bring life into the West Ham engine room, and missing out together with the participant would be a massive blow.

Gedson who has been an enormous talent is slightly off track with his performances this season. Joining West Ham will give him a new dimension.
