After his impactful performances for the Hammers over the last two seasons, the England international has become one of the most sought-after players in the world.

Manchester United and Manchester City have both showed considerable interest in Rice, and Chelsea is another.

Rice’s current contract in east London expires in three years, but he reportedly turned down an extension offer from the club, hinting that he wants out.

West Ham are in contention for a European finish this season, but Rice wants to play Champions League football and believes he is capable of doing so.

But, according to the Athletic, the Hammers will resist the temptation to sell him this summer because they are in a great position due to the length of his current contract.

Instead, the club will aim to sell for a Premier League record amount of £150 million next summer.

Last summer, City shattered the record by paying £100 million to recruit Jack Grealish from Aston Villa, but Rice might fetch much more.

City would be in the greatest position to entice Rice away from the London Stadium, especially since Fernandinho’s departure at the conclusion of the season would give up a berth in defensive midfield.

United will lose Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba on free transfers this summer when their contracts expire, and Erik ten Hag wants to sign at least one midfielder.

Rice has been linked with a transfer away from West Ham even more in recent weeks, with reports claiming the 23-year-old has turned down three contract offers from the Hammers. His current contract at the London Stadium expires in 2024, with West Ham having the option to extend it by another year.
